Dallas Mavericks: What to watch for in home opener vs. Hornets
The Dallas Mavericks are fresh off making history victory against the LA Clippers. They set a new record as Luka Doncic led the team to a 50-point advantage at halftime. It was an incredible performance against one of the elite teams in the Western Conference.

The Hornets have no plans of rolling over on Dec. 29. Here is how and what to watch for in the Mavericks 2020-2021 home opener.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Charlotte Hornets injury updates
Kristaps Porzingis is again ruled out for Wednesday’s game, but he was “full go” in practice on Tuesday. Expect the Unicorn to be back in short order. Josh Richardson popped up on the NBA’s official injury report as questionable with a calf sprain. Stay tuned for updates on that injury as they become available.
The Hornets will be without Cody Zeller. Their starting center suffered a broken hand in the Charlotte’s season-opener.
Fans should check Twitter just before tipoff for Richardson’s status and any late-breaking injury information.
Dallas Mavericks vs. Charlotte Hornets storyline to follow: Doncic’s home opener streak
Luka Doncic has been outstanding in home openers in his young career. The 21-year-old dropped 26 points as the Mavs topped the Timberwolves in the first game at the American Airlines Center during his rookie campaign. Last season, Doncic had 34 points and nine rebounds as Dallas won their home and season opener over the Wizards. Can Luka make it three straight outstanding performances and Mavericks wins in the team’s home opener?
Expect the superstar to be locked in. He was incredible in the Dallas 51-point destruction of the Clippers. Luka will carry that over to the home opener against a Charlotte team that has struggled to stop the other team’s best player so far.
Fans will not want to miss Wednesday’s game. Please tune in and enjoy the show.
