Dallas Mavericks: Kristaps Porzingis gets in first full practice since knee surgery

The Dallas Mavericks have been without Kristaps Porzingis for the first three games of the 2020-2021 season. The Unicorn is recovering from an offseason meniscus repair. The Mavs have ruled him out until January, but KP is eager to get back on the floor and help his team.

They have missed Porzingis in their first three games. The Unicorn’s ability to space the floor, score 20-plus a night, and protect the rim is impossible to replicate. The Mavericks struggles at the center position will be erased with the return of KP.

The 7’3 big man reached a milestone on Tuesday. Let us take a closer at what he accomplished and what it means moving forward.

Fans know KP has been doing limited work in practice as he continues to ramp up. Coach Rick Carlisle let fans know that Porzingis reached a significant milestone on Dec. 29. See his quotes below courtesy of Callie Caplan.

The Unicorn is getting closer. He had this to say about his recovery during his media availability on Dec. 29.

Carlisle ruled out the next two games, but January is right around the corner. If KP misses two more weeks, he would sit six games and be ready to face the Pelicans on Jan. 11. That could add some extra flavor to an anticipated matchup on NBA TV.

Stay tuned for more updates on Kristaps Porzingis’ return as they become available. Zinger is getting close and should be back making a massive impact soon.

Expect a monster season from KP. He was playing the best basketball of his career during the Walt Disney World restart. The Unicorn thrives in the Dallas Mavericks system and promises to be in for career-year once he is fully healthy. The rest of the NBA should be on notice now. Do not miss it.
