Dallas Mavericks: 5 reasons why the team should trade for Danny Green

Why Dallas Mavericks should trade for Danny Green: 3. Shooting
Green is one of the best shooters and floor spacers in the NBA. He has hit 40.2 percent of his career 3-point attempts. That ranks 42nd in NBA history, according to Basketball-Reference.
Green is one of the best on catch and shoot players too. Over the last two seasons combined, he sank 43.6 percent of his 614 tries in this category.
Now factor in playing with Luka Doncic. The 21-year-old superstar helped his teammates shoot nearly career-high 3-point percentages across the board. That increase could vault Green up to the best shooter in the NBA.
The 33-year-old’s floor spacing will improve the Mavericks already elite offense too. Imagine the defense attempting to guard a Luka and Kristaps Porzingis pick and roll with Seth Curry and Danny Green waiting on the wings. Add in any fifth player that is an above league average shooter, and the defense is in trouble. If they help in the paint, Luka will burn them with an open triple. Don’t try to stop Doncic, and it is an easy layup.
Danny Green would make the Dallas Mavericks offense that much more dangerous. He would space the floor and hit his jumpers at an elite clip while not taking the ball out of Luka’s hands.
