Mavericks: Dirk Nowitzki offers parting message on anniversary of 41.21.1

Dallas Mavericks GOAT Dirk Nowitzki took to Twitter for one final message to wrap up a day of celebrating the legend on the anniversary of 41.21.1.

The Dallas Mavericks celebrated Dirk Nowitzki in style on April 9. It was the one-year anniversary of his special night. The team dubbed it 41.21.1. They honored Dirk in what turned out to be the final home game of his legendary career.

It was a special, memorable, and emotional evening inside the American Airlines Center which reached a crescendo when Nowitzki officially announced his retirement on the floor during the postgame ceremony.

The Mavs took the chance to honor their GOAT again on the anniversary. Fox Sports Southwest re-aired the game, the postgame festivities, and a documentary on the night. The Mavericks Twitter dedicated the day to Dirk content. Nowitzki even did interviews discussing the special evening and his many emotions. It was yet another day for MFFL’s to celebrate Dirk. He is more than deserving of every single one too.

It is difficult to fathom that it has been a year already. Fans saw 67 games without Dirk on the floor this season. For many, it was the first time in their life that Nowitzki was not a Mavericks player. That there was no number 41 on the floor to bail Dallas out of a tough spot. It has been a bit strange, but Dirk will always be the Mavs GOAT.

Nowitzki let fans know that he is staying busy and enjoying retirement in his interviews on April 9. He also said he will be around more going forward. That should be exciting for Mavericks fans. Nowitzki has been a good luck charm this season. Let us hope that continues moving forward.
