Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is still struggling with his ankle, but he played well against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Find out more here.

The Dallas Mavericks played their first home game since Feb. 12 on Monday night when the Minnesota Timberwolves visited the American Airlines Center. They were eager to get back on track after losing a heartbreaker to the Hawks in their last game.

The Mavs did not disappoint on Feb. 24. They scored 81 points in the first half and cruised to a 139-123 victory over the Wolves. Tim Hardaway Jr. led Dallas with 23 points. It was a fantastic team effort to pick up the win.

Luka Doncic produced 20 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and one block in just 25 minutes of action. Coach Carlisle rested him the entire fourth quarter because Dallas had the game locked up.

It was not all positive, though. Doncic stepped on James Johnson’s foot in the first quarter. He could be seen limping around the court, but he continued to play. It was a welcomed sight to see him battle through the pain.

Luka had this to say about the injury after the game.

That is not what Mavericks fans wanted to hear. It will be interesting to see how the 20-year manages the injury down the stretch. Doncic could be rested in one half of back-to-backs and likely sits out anytime there is swelling in the ankle.

Luka can still produce even at less than 100 percent. That is most impressive. The Mavericks star puts the team on his back and runs the offense despite being in clear discomfort.

Next. Will these surprising stats continue?

Dallas Mavericks supporters are going to have to keep an eye on this injury. It will be a fluid situation in each game. Luka Doncic needs to be healthy for the playoffs. Getting there with him as close to 100 percent as possible should be the goal for Dallas. Stay tuned.
