Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle is in Latvia to coach a Basketball Without Borders camp. He came early to drop by one run by Kristaps Porzingis.
Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle made a house call to Slovenia to visit Luka Doncic earlier this offseason. They had a few workouts and did some sightseeing. Fans can read more about that here.
Coach Carlisle is off on another visit. This time he is in Latvia with Kristaps Porzingis. Carlisle also signed up to for another cause while he is there. Here is the latest.
Basketball Without Borders
Coach Carlisle is coaching the Basketball Without Borders camp in Latvia from June 9 to the 12th. Here is the press release for the event.

The camp allows children 17 and under the chance to improve their basketball skills. Current NBA players Marc Gasol, Danilo Gallinari, and Lauri Markkanen all came through the Basketball Without Borders Europe program. The NBA does them all over the globe and has a plethora of current NBA talent that participated in the program.
Carlisle visits Porzingis
Coach Carlisle decided to touch down in Latvia a bit early to visit Kristaps Porzingis’ basketball camp.
Expect the two to get in a few workouts and spend some time bonding as well. The Mavs are expecting a massive return from Porzingis next season. It is easy to forget that he was playing at an unbelievable level before his injury.
Kristaps has not seen NBA action since Feb. 6, 2018. That is a significant period of time and has some Mavericks fans a bit worried. That uneasiness is unlikely to go away until they see him on the court during the preseason.
