Dallas Mavericks head coach, Rick Carlisle, will be coaching at the Basketball Without Borders Camp Europe in Latvia this summer. Assistant coach, Jamahl Mosley, and head trainer, Casey Smith will also be involved at BWB.

The Basketball Without Borders initiative started in 2001 when the NBA and FIBA decided to work together to bring basketball around the globe. As of now, the Basketball Without Borders initiative has reached 27 countries on six continents. This summer, the camp will be headed to Latvia where Dallas Mavericks head coach, Rick Carlisle, will be among those helping coach these young basketball players.

Carlisle is one of several people tied to the Mavericks organization that have helped with the Basketball Without Borders initiative. Last year, Harrison Barnes helped out at the Johannesburg, South Africa camp. In 2017, J.J. Barea and Dwight Powell teamed up to help out with the camps in the Bahamas.

Carlisle will be joined by assistant coach, Jamahl Mosley, who has helped out with the Basketball Without Borders in the past as well.

The camp is a basketball camp for boys and girls aged 17 and under who are looking to improve their skills and learn the game of basketball better. The coaches and players will help the boys and girls through several different drills and some scrimmaging as well.

Rick Carlisle will also be joined by former NBA player and current assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets, Pablo Prigioni. Both coaches have NBA playing experience and Prigioni brings an international aspect with him as he played many years overseas.

This initiative has brought several boys and girls to the NBA and WNBA over the years and has been a huge success for several years. Coach Carlisle will be visiting Kristaps Porzingis‘ home country yet again as he has already made a trip out there earlier in the year.
