Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki was back supporting the Dallas Stars in their first home game of the second round of the NHL Playoffs.

Dallas Mavericks GOAT Dirk Nowitzki is enjoying the early days of his retirement. It is well deserved after 21 seasons with the Mavs. Dirk accomplished so much both on and off the court.

Nowitzki was seen at Game 3 of the Dallas Stars first-round playoff series against the Nashville Predators. Fans can read more about that here.

He was also spotted vacationing in Mexico with his wife.

Back supporting the Stars

The Dallas Stars were back at home for Game 3 of their second-round NHL Playoff series against the St. Louis Blues. The Stars stole one of the first two games in St. Louis to even the series at a game apiece.

They were back at the American Airlines Center on April 29, and Dirk Nowitzki was in the building to cheer them on. The Stars official Twitter account sent out the following Tweet.

Dirk’s support was not enough as the Stars fell 4-3 on Monday evening. They now trail two games to one in the series. There is still plenty of time to advance into the next round, though.

Nowitzki remains committed to Dallas. That should not be surprising because of his loyalty. He stayed with the Mavericks for 21 seasons and took plenty of pay cuts to improve the roster around him. Dirk is a rare breed in every sense, and that is what made him a future first-ballot Hall of Famer.

Final thoughts

Dirk Nowitzki was back inside the American Airlines Center to cheer on the Dallas Stars on April 29. The Stars are three wins away from reaching the Conference Finals for the first time since 2008. Their next game is Wednesday in Dallas. Expect the Mavericks to continue supporting their NHL brethren.

Dirk’s retirement has the Dallas Mavericks facing a season of change. For the first time since 1998, the roster will be without Nowitzki. That means Luka Doncic will have to step up and be the Mavs franchise player. The Smoking Cuban will have plenty more on that and the entire Mavericks offseason, so tune in with us all summer for the latest.
