Dallas Mavericks new starting center DeAndre Jordan is already joining the team history books and more news from around the Mavs.
The Dallas Mavericks played a fantastic game on Monday and picked up their second straight victory. Zach LaVine shot the lights out for the Chicago Bulls, but it was not enough as the Mavs won 115-109 on Oct. 22.
Dallas used a complete team effort to earn the win and their first winning record since 2016. Six players scored in double-figures. Wesley Matthews led the team with 20 points. Luka Doncic had 19 points and six assists. The star man was likely the man in the middle, though.
Jordan cannot be stopped
DeAndre Jordan played 32 minutes and produced 18 points, 16 rebounds, and a block. That included six offensive boards and eight of 11 shooting from the field. Jordan also sank both of his free throw attempts. He also did this courtesy of the official Twitter of the NBA.

Jordan also earned a place in the Mavs history books after just three games. Dwain Price explains in the Tweet below.
DeAndre has 18 and 12 and is the 3rd player in #Mavs history to start a season with 3 straight double doubles. Popeye Jones did it in 1994 and Roy Tarpley did it in 1989 and '90. @dallasmavs

It is a small sample size, but for the season Jordan is averaging 17.0 points, 12.7 rebounds, 1.0 steal, and 2.3 blocks per game on 70.0% shooting from the field and 90.0% on free throws.
Carlisle on Brunson
Mavericks Coach Rick Carlisle also gave his post-shootaround presser on Monday and shared some high praise to rookie second-round pick Jalen Brunson. See his quote below courtesy of Dwain Price.
Carlisle on rookie point guard Jalen Brunson: "Even though he was the National Player of the Year (at Villanova), he was still very underrated in the draft. I think in the end he’ll be a guy that should have been in the Top 15 in the draft. He’s got a very solid disposition."

Brunson has been thrust into a larger role with Devin Harris injured, but the rookie has responded well. Expect Brunson to continue to improve and be a piece of the Mavs rotation for a long time.
