With the NBA offseason winding down, here are offseason awards for the eventful last few months in the Western Conference.

From star-studded trades to high-profile draft picks, the Western Conference was once again loaded with storylines as the offseason went along. Some teams progressed forward while some teams made moves to go backwards.

With many franchise altering moves being made, I handed out offseason awards throughout the conference. Here are the awards I am hypothetically handing out:

Best and Worst NBA Draft: Which teams made the best decisions with their draft picks?

Best and Worst Free Agency: Dealing strictly with free agent signings, who had the most success in free agency?

Biggest Upgrade: Which team improved as a whole the most this offseason?

Biggest Downgrade: Which team will see the biggest downgrade this coming season?

Riskiest Move: Which move was the riskiest of the offseason?

Most Surprising Move: Which move was the most surprising of the offseason?

We also decided to make this the topic of August 14th’s episode of the Locked On Mavericks Podcast where Nick Angstadt and I debate each of our picks. You can listen to the podcast here.

You can read Nick’s full answers at MavsMoneyball here.

As a reminder, this is dealing strictly with the Western Conference. With that being said, here are my award winners.
