The Dallas Mavericks are ready to field offers from essentially any NBA team in the league, which is why each rumor that we see could have a direct correlation with the team. Even some as crazy as Festus Ezeli.

When the Dallas Mavericks come back from the upcoming All-Star break, there is a definite chance that the team could look different or be on the verge of looking different. The Mavs front office recognizes that the team possesses a few pieces that would be helpful to many teams in the league.

Those pieces are players that Dallas has not been able to get full production out of this season and could easily be moved to someone with more need of their services. Andrew Bogut, Deron Williams and possibly even Devin Harris come to mind for veterans that are hard to come by in this league.

Now let’s take a look at the other side of it. The Portland Trail Blazers have reportedly strengthened their efforts to move Festus Ezeli before the trade deadline. Ezeli has not played in a game yet this season and has a history of injuries limiting his play.

Ezeli, a former NBA Champion with the Golden State Warriors in 2015, signed with the Blazers this past offseason on a 2 year $15 million deal. Ezeli has yet to put on a Blazers uniform for a game as this entire season has been lost to injury.

Portland also has a few other players that they probably would not be too upset about losing. Noah Vonleh and Ed Davis are both under contract for a few more years and have really not found much of a home in the Portland rotation. Vonleh is averaging about 13 minutes per game while Davis is around 17.

These players don’t really do much for Dallas but, then again, neither are the ones we are looking to move. What they do for the Mavs, is give us a chance at adding another draft pick. Portland could certainly use another big man after trading away their starting center in Mason Plumlee, and Bogut really fits what they are looking for.

Meanwhile, Dallas adds another pick which is something it sounds like Mark Cuban would be very interested in after this season, according to his comments from earlier today. For coverage of that, click here.

There is no guarantee that the Mavs will do anything before the trade deadline, no matter how badly we would like to. That being said, here is a trade that Dallas could make which could easily be beneficial for both teams.
