Shaq is traded to Cleveland. Phoenix is trying to trade for Tyson Chandler so that New Orleans can dump some salary… oh and maybe for McGrady too. Vince Carter may be going to Orlando for these spare parts – Rafer Alson, Tony Battie & Courtney Lee. So where are the Mavericks in all this? Who the hell knows!!! According to Mark Cuban’s Twitter account the Mavericks have traded their 22nd pick for the Trailblazer’s 24th and a 2nd rounder for this year and next.
I usually don’t like trading down in drafts but with the Mavericks not having a 1st round pick next season thanks to the truly awful trade that Avery Johnson insisted on to acquire Jason Kidd they will need all the picks they can get. With the NBA draft only being 2 days away there are rumors of trades running rampant in the NBA – some of them involve the Dallas Mavericks some of them do not.
Yesterday it was announced that the Dallas Mavericks extended their broadcasting for the next four seasons with local affiliate 103.3 ESPN. 103.3 ESPN has handled the broadcast of Mavericks games since the 2001-2002 season.
“We are excited to continue our partnership with 103.3 ESPN. They have done an incredible job with our broadcasts and we will look forward to many years together.” Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was quoted as saying.
