The Dallas Mavericks G League affiliate, the Texas Legends, continued their road trip to open up the second half of the season after a win in Austin over the Spurs.

It was the first time the Legends got a look at the Skyforce (Miami Heat G League Affiliate). After that series, they traveled to Birmingham to take on the Squadron. Here is how the Legends concluded their road trip.

Carlik Jones late free throws propel Legends past Skyforce

Carlik Jones' clutch three throws at the end of the game propelled the Legends over the Skyforce 120-117 in a close contest. The Legends took off at the beginning and built the lead to 14 points before holding the advantage for most of the night. The Skyforce would come back and tie the game late in the fourth, but miscues on the offensive end would be their demise as Jones sealed the win.

The Legends had seven double-digit scorers led by Carlik Jones with 31 points. Micah Potter would lead Sioux Falls with 29. This was a great offensive showing by the Legends, and they didn't get fazed when Sioux Falls came back and tied it late in the fourth. It was a great start to the two-game set.

Sioux Falls Skyforce gets revenge on the Legends 110-92

I was hoping this wasn't going to happen since we embarrassed them in front of their home crowd in the last game, but Micah Potter would get revenge against the Legends as they coasted to a 110-92 victory. The Skyforce dominated the Legends from the opening tip and the rest was history.

Justin Jackson led the Legends in scoring with 17 points followed by Feron Hunt with 16. Sioux Falls did what they need to do against Carlik Jones and held him to 12. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to your opponent for a great defensive showing and move on to the next game.

Squadron dominate Texas Legends in Birmingham

The Legends concluded their road trip in Birmingham, but Justin Jackson's 32 points would be the only bright point of this game as the Squadron picked up the 123-109 win.

Trey Murphy was one of the few Squadron players that the Legends didnt have an answer for as he finished with 24 points. Zach Hankins and Jared Harper would tie for second in scoring for the Squadron with 16 each.

Justin Jackson put on a show for the Birmingham folks as he led the Legends in scoring with 32. Carlik Jones and Feron Hunt connected on a couple of alley-oops including this one below.

The good news is the Legends return home to take on the Salt Lake City Stars at the Comerica Center in Frisco on March 8. It will be great to be back at home to play in front of a full crowd. Stay tuned to The Smoking Cuban for news and game recaps on the Texas Legends.
