Takeaway from Dallas Mavericks preseason dress rehearsal vs Jazz: 1. Luka’s ready

Doncic played all summer for the Slovenian National Team, so fans knew he would be ready to hit the ground running. The 23-year-old rested in the first preseason game, but he was lights out in the team’s second outing. Luka stayed hot on Friday night against the Jazz.

He played 30 minutes in the first three-quarters of the dress rehearsal where he finished with 24 points, five assists, three rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Number 77 has been competing on both ends of the floor, and he was nine of 18 from the field in the final preseason contest.

If there was any question about his readiness, Doncic got up for a dunk on Friday night in Utah.

It has not been the most difficult competition this preseason, but Luka is firing on all cylinders heading into opening night. He got anywhere he wanted on the floor against the Jazz, and it was an impressive night, despite his two of nine shooting from long range.

The Dallas Mavericks open the regular season on Wednesday night in Phoenix against the Suns in a playoff rematch. Fans should expect Luka Doncic to go off as he looks to get the Mavs off on the right foot, so do not miss it.
