1. Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic is on pace to be the greatest Dallas Maverick ever and one of the greatest NBA players ever, and if the Mavs were to trade him, they'd likely receive the biggest return in a trade in NBA history that would be jampacked with first-round picks and elite players.

Doncic is under contract until the end of the 2025-26 season, and after that, he has a player option for the following season. If Doncic is somehow not extended by then, he would likely opt out for more money whether that is from the Mavs or a different team, and Dallas could trade Doncic for almost any player in the NBA if they ever wanted to.

Last season for Dallas, Doncic averaged 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 48.7 percent from the field and 38.2 percent from downtown. His improvements as a shooter and on defense were important to him having a near-MVP season, and his improved leadership alongside Kyrie Irving was huge.

Doncic battled injuries of all kinds to help his team get to the NBA Finals, and it'd be a shame if he ever plays in a different team's jersey. He has the potential to go down as an all-time great, and his trade value is as high as anyone else in the NBA.

Doncic is poised to have another elite season, and a big season from him combined with improved team success could be the perfect recipe for an NBA Finals win for the Mavs.
