NBA Draft 2022: All 58 selections from this year’s event
By Tyler Watts
The 2022 NBA Draft was a night full of surprises. It started with Paolo Banchero being the number one overall pick by the Magic, despite it seeming like Jabari Smith Jr. had that spot locked up at the beginning of the day. There were plenty of shocking picks and several trades on June 23 to make for an exciting evening.
The Dallas Mavericks traded two future second-round picks to get the 37th overall pick where they selected Jaden Hardy. The 6’4 guard was the last player left in the green room on Thursday night and was projected to go in the first round. It was another wise move by Nico Harrison and the Mavs.

The Bucks and Heat were forced to forfeit their second-round selections because of tampering violations, which left this year’s draft with only 58 selections.
The Dallas Mavericks traded their way back into the second round to select a high-upside prospect, but the biggest news may have come from the New York Knicks. They made multiple trades and cleared about $16 million in cap space. That is not enough to land Jalen Brunson, but they are clearly making a push to do just that.
The 2022 NBA Draft saw Nico Harrison make his first draft choice in a night that was filled with excitement, and now free agency is just one week away.
