The Dallas Mavericks will put theri seven-game win streak to the test on Sunday evening when they head to Indiana to take on Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers.

The Pacers and Mavericks are both fighting for playoff positioning in their respective conference, but it’s been Dallas who is thriving since the trade deadline, moving into the No. 6 spot in the Western Conference.

The Mavs find themselves set as slight favorites on the road on Sunday – a good sign for one key trend with the team this season.

Mavericks vs. Pacers key players to watch

Dallas Mavericks

Luka Doncic: Luka Doncic put together a 41-point masterpiece in a win over the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night. Now, he gets to face an Indiana team that plays at a fast pace and doesn’t defend at a high level. With Nesmith out, this could be a huge game for Doncic.

Indiana Pacers

Tyrese Haliburton: Haliburton is back to his usual minutes, and he put up 25 points and 13 assists in his last game. He has five straight games with 11 or more dimes, and four of those have come with him playing 30 minutes or more for the first time since his hamstring injury. He’s a great prop target on Sunday.

Mavericks vs. Pacers prediction and pick

If there’s one spot to be on the Mavericks this season, it’s when they are road favorites.

Dallas is an NBA-best 11-2 against the spread as a road favorite this season. The Pacers have been great as home underdogs (7-3-1 ATS), but I’m worried about Indiana’s defense – 26th in the NBA in defensive rating – slowing down a healthy Mavs team.

These teams have yet to play this season, but Dallas matches up well with the Pacers, especially since the team added PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford at the trade deadline.

Plus, the Mavericks come into this game on a massive seven-game winning streak, dating back to well before the All-Star break. This should be a fun offensive showcase, but I think Dallas comes out with the win on the road.
