Mavericks vs. Kings NBA expert prediction and odds for Tuesday, March 26 (Take the points)
By Peter Dewey
The Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings are both in a heated battle for the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference, and they’ll take center stage with the late game on TNT on Tuesday night.
Both teams are playing the second night of a back-to-back – a spot Dallas (8-3 ATS) has thrived in – but the Kings are favored by 1.5 points in this one at home.
That’s not always the best sign for Sacramento, which won on Monday night against the Philadelphia 76ers, improving it to just 12-19 ATS on the season when set as a home favorite.
The Mavs, on the other hand, picked up a road win – and cover – to move to 15-4 ATS as road favorites, but things are different when the team is set as an underdog (7-8 ATS this season).
With so much at stake in the Western Conference standings, who should we bet on?

Mavericks vs. Kings key players to watch
Dallas Mavericks
PJ Washington: This is more about defense, as I’m interested to see if Washington draws the assignment on All-Star guard De’Aaron Fox in this matchup. Washington has locked down some big-name players since coming to Dallas, and he’s also averaging 10.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game with the team.
Sacramento Kings
Domantas Sabonis: This’ll be an interesting matchup for Sabonis against one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA this season. The Kings big man leads the NBA in triple-doubles, and he had 17 points (7-of-10 shooting), 11 rebounds and four dimes despite fouling out in his last meeting with Dallas.
Mavericks vs. Kings prediction and pick
There are just too many things working against the Kings in this matchup.
Sacramento has struggled all season long as a home favorite, and the team is one of the worst in the NBA on the second night of a back-to-back, going just 4-8 against the spread.
The last time the Kings were playing the second night of a back-to-back, they lost outright as 11.5-point road favorites against the lowly Washington Wizards.
Dallas has thrived on the second night of back-to-backs (8-3 ATS), and both of these teams can make another major move in the standings after the Phoenix Suns lost last night.
While the Kings did win the first two meetings between these teams, I lean with Dallas’ revamped roster since the trade deadline. The Mavs have won four in a row and eight of their last 10 games to make a real push for the No. 6 spot.
Given the Kings’ struggles on defense at home (23rd in the league), I think they’ll have a hard time slowing down Dallas’ No. 7 ranked offense.
