Will the Dallas Mavericks trade Dorian Finney-Smith?

The Mavs are unlikely to trade Finney-Smith before the deadline unless it is part of a package that brings a massive upgrade to Dallas. They have made it clear that the organization wants to win now. Luka Doncic believes the team can contend for a championship, so trading away a key starter for draft picks or a short-term downgrade does not make sense.

Things could change if the Mavericks realize they will not be able to re-sign Finney-Smith this summer. The front office will not have the cap space to sign a replacement, so it could force Dallas into making a move before the Feb. 10 deadline.

The Dallas Mavericks need to find a way to keep Dorian Finney-Smith on their roster or they will be searching for a 3-and-D forward as they look to build a contender around Luka Doncic. They already have that piece and should be looking to keep him in Dallas long-term.
