The Dallas Mavericks suffered a frustrating loss to the Pelicans on Friday night as the team’s offense struggled to get on track. Superstar Luka Doncic finished with 21 points, ten rebounds, and seven assists, but the Mavs scored just 91 total in the blowout loss.

With the schedule picking up and Dallas facing the second night of a back-to-back, they ruled Luka, Kristaps Porzingis, and Willie Cauley-Stein for Saturday’s contest against the Memphis Grizzlies. Doncic is out with ankle soreness, and it will be his fourth missed contest of the season.

The Mavericks will be extremely short-handed without Luka and KP, so who steps up against the Grizzlies?

The Mavs will insert Jalen Brunson into the starting five, and he will need to carry the offense on Saturday evening. The 6’1 guard is putting together a phenomenal season, and he needs to make plays and score against the Grizzlies. The Mavericks must have a 20-point ten-assist double-double from JB to have a chance to win.

Tim Hardaway Jr. will also need to get hot and knock down shots. The 29-year-old has just four 20-point games so far this season. The Mavs must have his fifth on Saturday night. Plus, THJ must handle some playmaking duty with their two stars on the shelf.

They are at home, but it will not be easy for the Mavericks to defeat the Memphis Grizzlies on Dec. 4. The Grizzlies are coming off a historic 152-point performance against the Thunder, and they are eager to stay ahead of Dallas in the standings with a win. Memphis will not have Ja Morant on Saturday night, but they will be coming to dominate the Mavs.

Dallas Mavericks should keep it locked to The Smoking Cuban for all the latest on Luka Doncic’s injury and everything on the team this season. Do not miss it.
