Mavericks need Luka Doncic now more than ever

Dallas Mavericks need Luka Doncic back in the lineup to pair with Kristaps Porzingis
The chemistry between Luka and KP was picking up before Doncic’s injury. Both men had scored 20-plus in three straight contests, and the Mavs won their second straight game over the Nuggets the night the 22-year-old went down. Their offense was rolling as Dallas blew out San Antonio and Denver in arguably their two best performances of the season.
Porzingis has continued playing well with Luka out. His streak of scoring 20-plus sits at six games as the Unicorn is finding his rhythm. Fans have seen him being more active on the offensive end of the floor, including posting up, spotting up, and crashing the glass for massive putback dunks.
Head coach Jason Kidd is also solving the team’s rotation and combinations. He is playing more single big man lineups and maximizing the space on the floor and their defense. The Mavs are slowly finding their rhythm, but they need Luka Doncic back to transform into an elite team.
The 22-year-old superstar is working his way back, and he should return in one of the Dallas Mavericks’ two games this week. It will not be a moment too soon because his team needs him now more than ever to take that next step and get back into the top of the Western Conference.
