Luka Doncic practices but remains questionable to face Clippers
By Tyler Watts
The Dallas Mavericks have lost three straight games without superstar Luka Doncic, but he continues to improve. The 22-year-old superstar was questionable heading into Sunday’s game against the LA Clippers before being ruled out just ahead of tipoff.
The Mavs held a practice in Los Angeles on Monday, and Luka took part. Head coach Jason Kidd only had positive things to say, but there were conflicting reports about how Doncic fared.
The 22-year-old superstar may have re-aggravated his injury, according to Callie Caplan. She noted that he stormed off the court and yelled in pain during a 5-on-5 scrimmage. The Mavs list him as questionable for Tuesday’s game, but it could be closer to doubtful if Luka had a setback.

Luka sprained his ankle and knee on Nov. 15 in the final minute as the Mavericks were finishing off a victory over the Denver Nuggets. Austin Rivers rolled up on the Mavs superstar, which has caused him to miss one week of action already.
Fans should be watching his status closely on Tuesday. The Mavericks training staff will likely test his ankle and knee during pregame warmups before making a final determination on if he plays.
If he is forced to sit, expect Jalen Brunson to start in his absence. The Mavericks will be without Frank Ntilikina as he was already ruled out with a calf strain, so Trey Burke will be leading the second unit. Dallas’s lack of shot creation will be on full display if LD is forced to sit.
The good news for fans is even if Luka Doncic has to miss Tuesday’s game in Los Angeles, the Dallas Mavericks are off until Saturday. The team has time to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, and it will be additional time for Luka to get healthy. Stay tuned to The Smoking Cuban for all the latest on Doncic and the Mavs this season.
