Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic aggravated a thigh injury in Wednesday’s loss to the Pelicans. Number 77 had been playing through the injury for more than a week before making things worse in New Orleans. Luka avoided serious injury, but he missed Saturday’s game in Memphis to rest and recover.

Fans were hopeful he would return on March 13, but the Mavericks again ruled him out a full day before the game. The team is calling it a left thigh strain, and he will miss a second straight game.

Here is a look at the latest on his injury, an update on Kyrie Irving’s status for Monday’s game, and when fans can expect Luka to be back in action.

The Mavs did not practice on Sunday, so there was no further update. Luka being ruled out a full day before the game is never a great sign. It appears Doncic will miss at least Wednesday’s game in San Antonio as well. Expect Luka to try to give it a go on Friday night in Los Angeles, which will give him more than a full week of rest.

The Mavericks listed Kyrie Irving as questionable for Monday’s game with right foot soreness. The eight-time All-Star missed Saturday’s game with the ailment, but he was not ruled out until 90 minutes before tipoff. Irving is 50-50 to play on March 13, but he will do everything in his power to be ready for that contest.

Dallas Mavericks fans will be holding their breath over the next few days as they wait for their superstar duo to return to the court. The Mavs are in danger of missing the postseason entirely if they do not get back on track, and that will be nearly impossible without their two best players. Does Irving return on Monday night? When does Doncic play again? Stay tuned for the latest updates.
