Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic earned a 95 overall rating in NBA2K23. The 23-year-old was on the cover of last year’s edition of the wildly popular video game, and he started with a 94 rating. NBA2K23 releases on Sept. 9, and fans can preorder it anywhere video games are sold.

Doncic jumped up to a 95, but where does that put him among the NBA’s best players? He deserves to rank in the top five after earning first-team All-NBA honors for three consecutive years. Did 2K agree?

Here is a look at the top ten players in the NBA, why they missed the mark on Luka Doncic’s rating, and what fans know about the ratings of other Mavericks so far.

NBA2K23 released the top 11 overall players in this year’s game in the Tweet below.

Doncic earned the only 95 overall rating in the game, but he has the seventh highest overall. No player rates better than 97, which speaks to the parity across the NBA. Giannis took the highest overall mark this year. Luka deserved to rate over LeBron James and Stephen Curry to make the top five. Even putting Doncic at a 96 would have done no harm. Then, players two through seven are identical overall.

NBA2K’s official Twitter also dropped that Maxi Kleber earned a 75 overall rating, and Frank Ntilikina is a 72 overall.

According to 2Kratings.com, Christian Wood is the second-high Maverick this year at 84 overall. Spencer Dinwiddie is an 80 with JaVale McGee at 79. Dorian Finney-Smith continues to be the most disrespected Maverick with a 78 overall rating, which is tied with Dwight Powell.

Despite their run to the conference finals last season, NBA2K is sleeping on the Dallas Mavericks. Expect their ratings to improve as the season progresses, and fans can pick up a copy of NBA2K23 on Friday anywhere video games are sold.
