The Dallas Mavericks were a presence in Cleveland for the 2022 NBA All-Star weekend. Current superstar Luka Doncic helped Team LeBron pick up the victory on Sunday night, Dirk Nowitzki serves as an ambassador for the NBA, and head coach and former point guard Jason Kidd was honored with Dirk as part of the NBA’s 75 best players. The trio spent time together, and it was a fantastic opportunity for Luka to mingle with the league’s past and present legends.

Doncic had eight points in the 2022 NBA All-Star game, but they all came in important moments. He drilled two 3-pointers late in the first quarter to secure the edge for Team LeBron and the $100,000 for charity that came with it. Luka also got a layup late in the third to help tie the score and earn more money for a good cause.

Mavericks fans were treated to a special weekend that honored Luka Doncic, Dirk Nowitzki, and Jason Kidd, but it was Michael Jordan that offered the perfect ending as he showed some love to Dallas’ current superstar. Here is a closer look at the moment.

There was some question about whether or not Jordan would be in attendance at the 2022 NBA All-Star game in Cleveland. His annual Friday night party was not scheduled, but being honored as one of the 75 greatest players in NBA history was too good to pass up. MJ does not need validation, but more he could not miss the opportunity to rub elbows with all the best to ever do it.

Luka watched as Dirk, Kidd, Jordan, and every member of the NBA 75 was honored, but he also got to share a special moment with the GOAT.

After the game, Luka shared this quote about his moment with Jordan.

"That is amazing. I don’t know how to explain that moment. It was just unbelievable. MJ knows my name. It’s a lot. It was just an unbelievable moment. I have no words for that."

Luka Doncic signed with Jordan Brand back in 2019, and he is a key part of the GOAT’s sneaker line. It was still awesome to see Michael Jordan seek out the Dallas Mavericks superstar and show him some love.

The best is still yet to come for Doncic and the Mavericks. The 22-year-old superstar is playing out of his mind as we head into the stretch run. Expect more monster performances from number 77 as Dallas looks to push their way into the top four after the All-Star break. Fans surely won’t want to miss it.
