The Dallas Mavericks have won seven of their eight games since superstar Luka Doncic returned to the lineup on Jan. 2. They are playing lockdown defense and dominating the opposition during that stretch, with six wins by double-digit points. Doncic showed some rust, but has six 20-point games and is leading the Mavs on both ends of the floor.

The 22-year-old superstar struggled to begin this season thanks to a lot of factors, but he is just starting to play his best basketball. Fans have seen him more engaged on both ends of the floor and ready to lead the Mavs up the standings.

One area of Luka’s game that has been absent this season is his dunking ability. The 6’7 guard was never a high flier, but he has just one dunk so far this season. That did not stop Doncic from posting a picture on Instagram to get fans fired up about him joining the dunk contest. Here is a closer look.

Luka Doncic gets fans hyped about him joining the dunk contest

One of the highlights of All-Star weekend is the dunk contest, but the league has struggled to get All-Star players to take part in recent years. Luka asked fans to like his post if he should participate this year, and over 261,000 people are on his side so far. See the post below.

There is no way fans see Doncic in the dunk contest, but they can vote for him to take part in the All-Star game. Luka slipped behind Ja Morant to third among Western Conference guards in the last voting reveal. MFFLs need to get out and cast their ballots if they want Doncic to make his third straight start.

Luka Doncic loves to put on a show for his supporters, and fans can expect to see plenty more this season as the Dallas Mavericks attempt to jump back into the top four in the Western Conference. Do not forget to tune in and enjoy the games.
