The Dallas Mavericks are featured throughout Adam Sandler’s new movie Hustle. Fans knew Boban Marjanovic was in the film, and he was part of the opening scene. Sandler plays Stanley Sugerman, a Sixers scout, who is overseas taking a look at Boban, but Marjanovic is just the first of many Mavericks in the movie.
As Sugerman discovers Bo Cruz, played by Juancho Hernangomez, he phones Mavericks GOAT Dirk Nowitzki, and fans can get to see the Tall Baller from the G on the Facetime call. Nowitzki brings the laughs as he pretends not to know who Sugerman is before ensuring Cruz that he is the real deal.
Current superstar Luka Doncic has a cameo appearance later in the film as Cruz is gaining popularity. The 23-year-old even has one line in the movie where he questions where Cruz came from via social media.

They are not the only Mavericks. Owner Mark Cuban is pictured during the funeral scene for fictional Sixers owner Rex Merrick, played by Robert Duvall. Assistant coach Greg St. Jean can also be seen coaching Cruz’s team at the NBA Draft combine in the film.
The movie is littered with NBA stars and the league’s personalities. It is a must-watch for any basketball fan featuring a fantastic story, and Sandler delivers another award-winning performance. The two hours fly by as Sandler’s character grows close to the hidden gem prospect he discovered.
Fans will see more of the Dallas Mavericks this offseason. Luka Doncic will begin practice next week for the Slovenia National Team as he gears up for their World Cup qualifiers. Boban Marjanovic, Dwight Powell, and Frank Ntilikina should all feature for their national teams, and fans can bet Bobi will be doing some more acting too.
