Is Kawhi Leonard playing today? Clippers at Mavericks injury update for April 26
By Noah Weber
The start of the Dallas Mavericks and LA Clippers series has not disappointed, as the series is tied 1-1 after the Mavericks' hard-fought win on Tuesday night on the road.
Game 1 didn't go as well for Dallas, as the Mavs lost 109-97 and their role players struggled tremendously. The role players stepped up much more in Game 2, and they have some momentum heading into Game 3.
Kawhi Leonard returned to the lineup for the Clippers in Game 2 after missing Game 1 with knee inflammation, and LA is a completely different team when Leonard is in the lineup.
Kawhi Leonard's status for Clippers at Mavericks on April 26
Update: Kawhi Leonard will play tonight against the Dallas Mavericks.
According to the Clippers injury report heading into tonight's game against the Mavs, Leonard is listed as questionable with knee inflammation. Leonard was a game-time decision heading into Game 2, and it wouldn't be a shocker if he is in the same boat again tonight.
Leonard played in Game 2 without doing any contact work in practice, and playing in this game could have reaggravated his knee enough to keep him out of Game 3. It seems likely that Leonard will play in Game 3 due to the importance of every game in the postseason, but him being questionable for tonight is a positive sign for the Mavs.
Leonard is an elite defender, and him being out would give the Mavs a much better shot of taking a commanding 2-1 series lead over the Clippers.
