The Dallas Mavericks traded for Kyrie Irving to be their second star. There was plenty of risk, especially after his three turbulent years in Brooklyn, but Irving’s talent was too good to pass up. He averaged 27 points, six assists, and five rebounds in his 20 games with the Mavs, but the team struggled. Dallas lost 18 of their final 25 games to miss the playoffs entirely.

Kyrie is an unrestricted free agent this summer, and there will be suitors. Can the Mavericks re-sign Irving? It is a massive question that could determine the future of the franchise.

Second overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft Jalen Green joined Podcast P with Paul George where he gave props to Kyrie for being the star player that surprised him the most, and the 21-year-old noted that he wanted to learn from the eight-time All-Star.

Jalen Green wants to learn from Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving

Green was blown away by Irving after he dropped 42 on the Rockets during the 21-year-old’s rookie season. George noted that Kyrie plays bigger than he is, and the second-year guard said this about the eight-time All-Star.

"I want to learn from Kyrie if I can."

Green noted that he wanted to learn footwork, reads, and a few tricks out of Kyrie’s bag. Irving is one of the most talented players in the league, and he has plenty to teach. Paul George mentioned that Green, Kyrie, and PG13 would all workout together this summer. Fans can listen to the entire episode below.

Jalen Green averaged 22.1 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.7 rebounds in his second season as he took over as the Rockets' leading-scorer. The 21-year-old has the look of a future star, and it is fantastic to see that he wants to learn from the NBA’s best players.

Kyrie has an important decision to make this summer that could change the landscape of the NBA. If Irving goes to LA, the Lakers will again have three stars and the belief that they can win the title. Kyrie can go wherever he desires, but the Mavericks are confident he will remain in Dallas.
