The Dallas Mavericks dominated overtime to defeat the LA Clippers on Nov. 23 as Luka Doncic returned after missing three straight games. The victory snapped a three-game losing streak, but Jalen Brunson going down with a foot injury left a sour taste in fan’s mouths.

JB was injured driving to the basket in the second quarter when he made contact with Clippers center Ivica Zubac. The Mavericks guard was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game, but X-rays were negative. Supporters were left waiting for an update through the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Mavs returned to practice on Friday, and Brunson took part. The 6’1 guard talked with reporters afterward and is listed as questionable on the NBA’s official injury report heading into the game.

Jalen Brunson (foot) practices, questionable as Mavericks host Wizards

Brunson noted that the injury continues to improve, and he expects to play after getting in a full practice on Friday. The 25-year-old was quick to mention that he feared the worst when it happened, but thankfully, JB looks ready to return on Saturday night as the Dallas Mavericks host the Washington Wizards.

Head coach Jason Kidd also noted that Reggie Bullock returned from his illness and will be ready to play on Friday night. Frank Ntilikina will remain out with his calf injury against Washington.

Fans should keep an eye on Jalen Brunson. He is questionable, so be sure to check before tipoff to make sure he is active. The 6’1 guard has worked his way into a key piece of the Mavs closing lineup, and they need him at full strength. Expect JB to play, but his performance is worth monitoring.

It was fantastic news that Brunson avoided serious injury and appears set to just miss one half of basketball with his foot injury. Keep it locked to The Smoking Cuban for all the latest on the Dallas Mavericks this season, including injury updates, rumors, news, and analysis.
