Will Jalen Brunson choose the Knicks over the Dallas Mavericks in free agency?
By Tyler Watts
The Dallas Mavericks are in the thick of their first-round playoff series against the Utah Jazz, and guard Jalen Brunson made himself a significant amount of money off his historic performance in Game 2. He went for 41 points, eight rebounds, and five assists without turning the ball over in the Mavs' victory without superstar Luka Doncic. Brunson stole all the headlines and proved that he can take over and win his team a playoff game.
The 25-year-old guard becomes an unrestricted free agent after the two sides could not agree on an extension during the season. The max allowed was a four-year deal worth $55.6 million, and Brunson outplayed that contract during his fourth-year breakout.
JB will have plenty of suitors on the open market, and the New York Knicks appear to be the biggest threat. Members of their front office were on hand for Game 1 of the Mavs versus Jazz series, and the Knicks have plenty of ties to Brunson and his family. Will he choose to go to New York this summer?

Fans should expect plenty of rumors about Brunson before free agency opens on June 30. The Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons have joined the Knicks as being linked to JB already, but that list will grow as the focus shifts to it following the playoffs.
