How does Ja Morant suspension impact the Dallas Mavericks?

Dallas Mavericks face difficult West with or without Ja Morant
Even if the Memphis Grizzles slip into the Play-In Tournament, things will not be easy for anyone in the Western Conference. Morant will play at some point, and the Grizzlies will be a difficult matchup for anyone if they get to the playoffs.
The Nuggets, Lakers, Warriors, Suns, Clippers, and Kings all plan on being in the top six at the end of the regular season. Dallas, Minnesota, Oklahoma City, New Orleans, and Portland are hoping to be in the postseason in 2024. That is 12 teams vying for eight playoff spots. Four of those teams will not make it, including two that will miss the Play-In Tournament.
Things are not going to be easy for Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. They will likely get more difficult this offseason. Multiple teams will be looking to improve their roster in free agency and through trades. The West could be stronger in 2024 than it was in 2023, even if Memphis takes a small step back without Ja Morant.
The Mavericks need to focus on bettering their roster before worrying about anything that is happening around them. They need to improve their wing situation, find a new starting center, and add defense. Without it, Dallas will struggle. Can they improve this summer? How much? Stay tuned to find out.
