24. Jason Kidd - 16.2
One thing about Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd that newer fans forget is that he was one of the greatest point guards of all time during his day, and some of his best years came as a member of the Mavs.
Kidd played for the Mavs from 1994 until 1996 and from 2008 until 2012. His second stint with the team will always be remembered more due to the team winning their first NBA Championship in 2011, but he was much more productive during his first stint with the team.
Dallas drafted Kidd with the No. 2 overall pick in the 1994 NBA Draft, and his performance as a rookie was outstanding. Kidd averaged 11.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 7.7 assists, and 1.9 steals per game while shooting 38.5 percent from the field. These numbers helped Kidd earn the NBA's Rookie of the Year award, and he was even 13th in MVP voting.
Kidd improved tremendously during his second year with the team and the Mavs decided to trade him during the 1996-97 season to the Phoenix Suns. This move frustrated some fans, but the skilled point guard returned to Dallas in the middle of the 2007-08 season as they traded for him from the New Jersey Nets.
Kidd's steady hand at point guard and all-around play helped lead the Mavs to an NBA Finals win in 2011, and he'll always be considered a Mavs legend, even more so now due to his elite coaching.
