On Monday, the Dallas Mavericks took on the Chicago Bulls for a chance to get three wins in a row on the road. After beating the Detroit Pistons in blowout fashion, the Mavs were looking to follow up their blowout win with yet another impressive win over the Bulls.

After the first quarter, it was clear that the Mavericks came out with intensity on both ends of the floor, outscoring the Bulls 44-16 in the opening 12 minutes. The Mavs would carry that momentum through the whole game to beat Chicago 127-92.

Daniel Gafford inched closer to breaking NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain's consecutive field goals record by going 9-9 from the field against the Bulls. Gafford scored 20 points while also snagging seven rebounds in the winning effort.

Former NBA player reveals 1 thing Mavericks star Luka Doncic must change to win MVP

Superstar Luka Doncic extended his triple-double streak to seven in a row against the Bulls. Doncic failed to record his first 30-point triple-double in six games but still managed to score 27 points on efficient numbers.

Doncic has been in MVP talks all season long, and according to many fans, he should be the frontrunner to win the MVP award. Doncic is on track to win the scoring title with a league-high 34.6 points per outing.

Despite Doncic putting up historic numbers on a nightly basis, voters have failed to seriously consider the 25-year-old when it comes to winning the MVP award. The team record is oftentimes taken into account when it comes to MVP winners, and the Mavericks' 37-28 record could be a huge reason Doncic is constantly left out of MVP conversations by voters and media. But there could also be another reason Doncic isn't talked about.

Former NBA player Eddie Johnson recently went on the NBA's SiriusXM Radio station to give his take on why voters don't like Doncic. Johnson included that Doncic likes to argue with referees and that could turn off some voters when it comes to Doncic's likability on the court. Doncic also receives an unruly amount of technical fouls in a given season.

One major flaw that fans often have with Doncic is how frequently he argues with referees and how many technical fouls he receives. Doncic is currently tied with Houston Rockets forward Dillon Brooks for the most technical fouls in the league, with 14 each. This lines up perfectly with what Johnson said about Doncic and why he isn't receiving love from the voters.
