The Dallas Mavericks are surging down the stretch as they look to grab homecourt in the first round of the playoffs. Fans can bet that Dirk Nowitzki is loving every second of it. He and superstar Luka Doncic have a close relationship, and Dirk is the Mavericks in many ways.

It has already been a special year for Nowitzki. He had his jersey retired on Jan. 6 and was honored as one of the 75 greatest players of all-time during All-Star weekend in February. Dirk served as an ambassador for the NBA in Cleveland, and his book The Great Nowitzki : Basketball and the Meaning of Life was just released in English for the first time.

The honors keep coming as The Tall Baller from the G served as grand marshal of the Greenville Avenue St. Patrick’s Day parade on March 12, and he appeared to be loving every second of it. Fans can see a few highlights below.

A fan threw Nowitzki a football during the parade, which the legend signed a threw back.

It was fantastic to see Dirk interacting with fans and having a blast. MFFLs know that Nowitzki is a man of the people, but the pandemic has limited opportunities for supporters to interact with the legend. It was great to see him getting the chance on Saturday, and he shared a message for fans during the parade.

Nowitzki has been promoting the book, including doing podcasts and other media over the last two weeks. Fans can get plenty of Dirk content out there, and he is far from done with the Mavericks. Nowitzki currently serves as a special advisor to owner Mark Cuban and has an office at the recently renovated practice facility. The organization is hoping he takes on a full-time role when he is ready to do so.

Fans can also look forward to Dirk’s statue unveiling, which should happen within the next year. It will be another special night to honor the Dallas Mavericks GOAT, so do not miss it, and stay tuned to The Smoking Cuban for all the latest on Dirk Nowitzki.
