5 trades Mavericks must make to get rid of JaVale McGee

4. Mavs land Clint Capela in three-team blockbuster
The Dallas Mavericks have been linked to Clint Capela since the time of the draft, and getting involved in a Pascal Siakam blockbuster allows them to land him.
While helping facilitate the deal, Dallas lands a great big man in Capela while only losing Tim Hardaway Jr., JaVale McGee, and two second-round picks.
In this deal, the Mavericks land a player that would fit perfectly next to Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Capela has career averages of 12.4 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game. He would be a great rim runner to throw into the lineup that can also protect the rim.
Capela also doesn't need tons of touches to be effective, and that's the exact type of center that Dallas needs. He does all the little things that Dallas needs out of a big man, and they get him for a great price in this deal.
Dallas could make a move for Capela with only Atlanta being involved in the trade, but joining this proposed trade is much easier. It also allows the Mavs to get Capela at a cheaper price. If Dallas was engaging in one-on-one trade talks for Capela, they'd likely have to give up much more.
This trade allows Dallas to keep their top assets in Jaden Hardy, Josh Green, and the 2027 first-round pick while landing an elite rim protector.
