5. Mavericks revisit trade talks with Pistons, they finally budge on dealing Bogdanovic

The Dallas Mavericks have been in trade talks for Bojan Bogdanovic multiple times this summer, and it doesn't seem like the Pistons want to move him for less than a first-round pick.

Not many teams would give up a first-round pick for a 34-year-old shooting guard, and the Pistons may have to settle for dealing him for less. In this proposed trade, the Mavericks revisit the trade talks they had with the Pistons earlier this month, and Detroit finally budges.

In this deal, the Mavericks make a massive upgrade over Tim Hardaway Jr. as they land Bogdanovic. The Mavs also fill another need as they land a backup point guard in Killian Hayes. Not many people have been discussing the fact that Dallas needs a facilitator to come off the bench, and Hayes would fill that need right away.

Last season for the Pistons, Hayes averaged 10.3 points, 6.2 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. He is a great passer and defender, and Dallas needs a player like that to lead their second unit. Jaden Hardy and Seth Curry aren't known for their passing or defense, and Hayes would fill that role.

Along with Hayes, Dallas also lands a great scorer in Bogdanovic. He averaged a career-high 21.6 points per game last season and shot 41.1 percent from three. Bogdanovic would be Dallas' third option on offense and give them a three-headed monster in Kyrie Irving, Luka Doncic, and Bogdanovic.

Detroit seems insistent on moving Hayes, and this trade allows them to do so while landing Tim Hardaway Jr. and JaVale McGee. This seems like a small offer for a player of Bogdanovic's caliber, but I don't see anyone giving up a first-rounder for him.
