The list of contenders includes the Mavericks, Nuggets, and Kings from the Western Conference. Noel has a $9.7 million team option for next season, and teams would treat him as an expiring contract.

Dallas needs an upgrade at the five after free agent signing JaVale McGee has not worked out. The Mavericks have nowhere to turn behind Dwight Powell with Maxi Kleber and Christian Wood out injured. Both players are nearing a return, but the Mavs would love to add a more traditional center before Thursday’s deadline.
