2. Matisse Thybulle

Mattise Thybulle is one of the better defenders in this bunch, and the Mavs should consider bringing him in if the money is right.

Thybulle played three-and-a-half seasons in Philadelphia before being traded to the Trailblazers. He started all 22 games he played in Portland and averaged 7.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.7 steals, and 0.8 blocks.

Thybulle fills up the stat sheet on defense, and the Mavericks are in need of that type of player. He is a restricted free agent, but Portland could have other plans in the making, as Damian Lillard's future is uncertain, and they could be making a monster trade soon. This could cause them to move on from Thybullee if a team offers him enough money.

He has been on an All-Defensive team twice in his career, and just like many of these players, he would step in and be the best defender on the team. Thybulle is always making a defensive play. Whether if he's blocking someone's pull-up jumper or intercepting a pass out of the air, he makes his presence felt.

Thybulle's offensive game is limited, but he showed flashes while in Portland. He shot 38.8 percent from three as a Trailblazer, and if he can carry this momentum into next year, he'd be a valuable piece on the Mavericks. For context, Reggie Bullock shot 38 percent from three for Dallas last season.

The Trailblazers would likely match whatever the Mavericks threw at Thybulle, but if things get crazy in Portland, they may not match.
