Mavericks sharpshooter puts trade rumors to rest with recent comment

Dallas' season last year ended badly, as the Mavs ended up missing the playoffs and tanking their final two games of the year, and this offseason brought some uncertainty for Mavs guard Tim Hardaway Jr.

Hardaway Jr. was constantly in trade rumors, and it was even reported that Dallas trading him was "an expected move." He had been with Dallas for four and a half seasons, and it seemed like it was going to come to an end this summer.

Until it didn't.

Dallas decided to keep Hardaway Jr., and Mavs head coach Jason Kidd spoke about him possibly even being in the running for Sixth Man of the Year.

Hardaway Jr. spoke on the uncertainty of the offseason during his Media Day interview and even said, "I didn't know if I was going to be here if I'm being honest with you." The offseason was clearly a time of things unknown for Hardaway Jr., and it seems like he is confident that he will remain in Dallas this season.

"I feel securely here now," Hardaway Jr. said.

This doesn't mean that a trade for Hardaway Jr. still can't happen, but it seems like Hardaway Jr. is secure in Dallas.

We'll have you covered with all the latest news surrounding the Dallas Mavericks from Media Day, so stay tuned.
