8 Dallas Mavericks that fans were wrong about this season
By Noah Weber
1. Kyrie Irving
Despite Kyrie Irving's elite level of play and love for Dallas right away, some fans thought that re-signing him was a mistake.
They thought that Irving and Luka Doncic would never fit and that he would eventually ask to be moved because that's what he's done in the past.
Kyrie has quickly proved that anyone who doubts his fit on this team is wrong. Irving had his best game of the season on Sunday night as he finished with 35 points, six rebounds, and seven assists while knocking down seven 3-pointers.
Irving was all over the floor, hitting tough shots and making excellent passes. He makes the game look so easy, and those around him thrive when sharing the floor with him.
He has also been a big part of Dallas' new faster playstyle, and he is oftentimes seen starting fast breaks and being the one to push the ball in transition.
Dallas needed someone who could lead the team with Doncic off the floor, who also compliments his game. Irving has been all that and more, and fans should be excited about the duo's potential.
The Mavericks' next game is on Tuesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans.
