The G-League team of the Texas Legends hasn't been as busy as the Mavericks were this offseason.

After Al Whitley stepped down after last season, the Legends have been trying to fill that spot this summer. This afternoon it was announced that the new General Manager of the Texas Legends is Terry Sullivan.

The other move they made was Jordan Sears replacing George Galanopoulos as Head Coach of the Legends.

Sullivan has been with the Dallas Mavericks for the last 13 seasons, starting as a video scout during the year that the Mavericks won the title during the 2010-11 season. He has worked his way up the ranks in the Mavericks organization over the years and just finished his first year as Director of Player Personnel.

He will continue that role as he becomes the Texas Legends General Manager.

Sears has also been with the Mavericks for the last two seasons as the Head Video Coordinator. Before he joined the Dallas Mavericks, he worked two seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he was the Video Intern and Assistant Video Coordinator during their championship season back in 2021.

Sears says he can't wait to get to Frisco and develop future Maverick players.

"I’m thrilled to get to Frisco to help develop our players, staff, and franchise,” said Sears. “I’ve heard about the unique experience, the incredible fanbase, and the community focus of the Legends. This is a great opportunity for me both personally and professionally to come into such a high-energy, supportive atmosphere with a team that’s focused on working hard and having fun doing it."

This seemed like the perfect time to change up the personnel in Frisco after Whitley decided to step down.

This brings in people that Nico Harrison fully trusts to come in and help develop future Mavericks. Harrison has made some great moves this summer, and we'll see how this decision ends up working out for the franchise. It will be interesting to see what kind of offensive and defensive system Sears decides to run as well.

Both of these moves seem very promising for the Texas Legends as they enter a new direction for the G-League franchise. We'll have you covered with all the latest Mavs rumors and news this summer, so stay tuned.
