Takeaway from Dallas Mavericks preseason win over Magic: 1. Luka is ready
Luka Doncic played all summer for the Slovenian National Team, and the 23-year-old superstar looks to be in midseason form already. The team rested him in their preseason opener, so number 77 made sure to give the fans a treat on Friday night.
He was throwing unbelievable behind-the-back and no-look passes, had his jumper locked in, and got to the basket at will against the Magic. Here is a brief highlight package from the 23-year-old superstar’s first preseason action.

Doncic played all 12 minutes in the first quarter, and he returned for about six minutes to close the half. In his 18 minutes, Luka had 16 points, five assists, three rebounds, one steal, and one block on six of eight shooting from the field, including three 3-pointers. The Mavericks outscored the Magic by 14 when number 77 was on the floor in an incredible performance.
Luka Doncic is ready for the regular season opener, and fans should not be surprised to see the team rest him in their final preseason contest. They want the 23-year-old superstar healthy and firing on all cylinders as they head to Phoenix on Oct. 19 to begin the campaign.
