Takeaway from Dallas Mavericks Game 4 playoff win over Suns: 1. Luka leads the way

Luka Doncic went off in the first two games, but he did get enough help to steal a game in Phoenix. It had Mavericks fans worried the Suns would sweep the series, but things changed during the two games in Dallas.

Doncic did not have his best game on Sunday afternoon, but he still managed to produce 26 points, 11 assists, seven rebounds, and four steals in 37 minutes of action. It featured plenty of difficult makes, including this incredible finish inside.

Luka shot just nine of 25 from the field, including making just one 3-pointer, but it did not matter. The Mavericks held the Suns to 101 points as Doncic stepped up his defense in the last two games. Dallas outscored Phoenix by 14 in number 77’s minutes on May 8.

Luka Doncic orchestrated the offense and led the charge for Dallas. The Mavericks made 20 3-pointers because he drew the defense and created open shots. It was an impressive performance from the 23-year-old, despite not producing otherworldly numbers.

The series now shifts back to Phoenix and the Dallas Mavericks have all momentum. If they are going to upset the top-seeded Suns, they will have to win one in Phoenix. Can the Mavs do it? Dallas has shown they are capable, even when Luka Doncic does not play his best, so stay tuned.
