Takeaway from Dallas Mavericks Game 3 playoff win over Suns: 1. Luka can always lead to W
Luka Doncic had scored 80 points combined in the first two games of the series, but the Mavs lost both. They need him to give up the ball a bit more, so he has the energy to defend when the Suns got him in the pick and roll action. The Mavericks found the balance in Game 3 as they earned a dominant victory.
Doncic produced the highlight of the contest in the first quarter when he dished out an assist while sitting on the court. Yes, you read that correctly. See the incredible play below.
Luka did not have his jumper in Game 3, but it did not matter. He got to the rim and finished inside on his way to 26 points, 13 rebounds, nine assists, and two steals. Doncic made 11 of his 25 field goals, including two 3-pointers as he played just 34 minutes because of foul trouble.
Doncic played well on the defensive end too as the Mavericks outscored the Suns by 20 with their superstar on the floor. It was just what Dallas needed to get back into the series.
The Dallas Mavericks host the Phoenix Suns on Sunday afternoon for Game 4. Can they even the series? It will take another total team effort to knock off the Suns, and fans won’t want to miss the contest.
