4 Studs, 1 dud from Mavericks' series-clinching win over Thunder
By Noah Weber
3. Stud - Luka Doncic
Before Game 5, most Dallas Mavericks fans were extremely concerned with Luka Doncic's performances. His injuries were clearly hindering his performance, he was non-stop arguing with the referees, and he just wasn't himself.
Doncic's struggles to start the series were even more concerning, but his performance in Game 5 was nothing short of greatness. He finished with a 31-point triple-double and led the Mavs to a 12-point victory on the road.
Doncic followed up his dominant Game 5 with another great game in Game 6 as he finished with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists while shooting 9-15 from the field and 4-6 from downtown. He was getting to his spots early and often in this game, and his dominant first half set him up for an overall successful game.
Doncic finished with 15 points, four rebounds, three assists, and one steal in the first half while shooting 5-6 from the field and 3-4 from downtown. His jumper was looking pure, especially off of step-backs, and he was finishing strong around the rim.
Although he had an all-around great game, Doncic fell back into his habit of arguing with the referees early in this game. He picked up a technical foul in the first half, and Tony Brothers looked like he thought about giving him another one.
Doncic has to be careful when he decides to argue with the referees, and the Mavs need his mind fully on basketball for him and his team to be at their best. Doncic himself even talked about how important it was that he didn't argue with the refs in Game 5, but it was a different case in Game 6.
