The Dallas Mavericks start the 2023-24 preseason in less than 48 hours as they battle the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 5 in Abu Dhabi for the NBA Abu Dhabi games.

The Mavs arrived in Abu Dhabi yesterday, and it looks like they are already taking in all that the city has to offer.

In videos posted by the Mavs social media team, the team has already participated in multiple bonding activities.

Mavericks start preseason trip in Abu Dhabi with breathtaking excursion

The first bonding activity that they did was ride camels through the desert. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and Mavs superstar Kyrie Irving seemed to be enjoying himself in the video that was posted. The view on the desert is gorgeous, and the guys will never forget this experience.

This is something that most people never get to do, and it's great to see that the Mavs staff is ensuring that they have some fun while they are there, along with focusing on their games.

Another fun activity that they did was play NBA 2K24 in the desert on couches with two massive televisions. From the video and photos that were posted, it looked like Dereck Lively II, Olivier-Maxence Prosper, Jaden Hardy, and Mike Miles Jr. were all playing.

Both activities are great for team bonding, and this trip gives the team the chance to spend time together as the NBA season is quickly approaching. Having a team of guys that all get along is important, and the various activities that the team has already done in Abu Dhabi should help that.

Some fans have been overly critical of this trip, saying that it could cause a slow start to the season, but the contrary could be a reality. This trip could bring all the guys together and bring back the chemistry that was flowing throughout the building during the 2021-22 season.

The Mavs matchups with the Timberwolves are something to keep an eye on, as rookie O-Max Prosper has already vowed to "make it tough" on Minnesota star Anthony Edwards. These games are going to be a great test for both rookies, as good performances could keep them in the starting lineup.

After Dallas' two games in Abu Dhabi, they will travel to Madrid to play against Luka Doncic's former team, Real Madrid, on October 10. We'll have you covered on all the news from preseason, so stay tuned.
