The flashiest move of the Dallas Mavericks' first night of free agency was re-signing Kyrie Irving to be Luka Doncic's running mate of the future.

This is a move that was expected by many, as all signs were pointing to him returning to the Mavs, and Dallas got the deal done quickly.

Later that night, Dallas made another big-time move, but it wasn't as flashy as the already mentioned earlier signing. Nonetheless, it was still a massive move, and this player could play a huge role on this team once October 25 rolls around.

Dallas Mavericks newly-signed guard labeled as a 'perfect' fit

This player is Seth Curry, and the Mavs signed him to a two-year deal after just a few hours of free agency. This will be Curry's third stint with Dallas, and it sounds like one NBA analyst is a massive fan of this signing by Dallas.

On his podcast, "Old Man and the Three," former NBA sharpshooter J.J. Redick said, "Seth fits perfectly on this team (Dallas)."

Redick has a great basketball mind, and hopefully, Curry ends up being as great of a fit as he thinks he will be. Curry will be a great floor spacer for Irving and Doncic, as they will command most of the attention from the defense.

Like Curry, Redick was also an elite shooter during his time in the NBA, as he shot 41.5 percent from 3-point range during his long NBA career.

The Curry signing was already labeled as the most underrated move of the offseason, and Curry was even named one of the best shooters in the NBA by one of his peers.

There is a lot for Mavs fans to be excited about when it comes to the Curry signing, and hopefully, he ends up being the "perfect" fit that he was heralded as by Redick. In his 10-year NBA career, Curry averages 11.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 0.7 steals per game while shooting 43.5 percent from downtown.

Curry is one of the greatest shooters of all time and should have no problem getting plenty of open looks in Dallas this season. He has already played a season with Doncic back during the 2019-20 season, and they should be able to pick up right where they left off.

Seth Curry, Luka Doncic, and the Mavs' first regular season game is on October 25 against the San Antonio Spurs.

Will Curry end up being the perfect fit in Dallas?

That question will be answered shortly as training camp starts next week, and we'll have you covered.
