NBA trade talk is heating up around the league with training camp just a few days away.

Damian Lillard is always getting talked about more and more with rumors flying about where he could possibly go, and another big-name guard has also been on the trade block recently.

After Buddy Hield's contract extension talks stalled with the Indiana Pacers, they have been searching for a new home for him.

Rumors: NBA insider reveals Mavericks' progress on potential trade for sharpshooter

Hield is in the final year of his contract with Indiana and there have been a few teams that have been linked to him over the past few months. One of those teams is the Dallas Mavericks.

It was reported earlier this week that the Mavs have shown interest in Hield over the last few months, but some news from an NBA insider may force some Mavs fans to pump the brakes on a potential Hield to Dallas trade.

On his most recent episode of "The Saturday Stein Line with Marc Stein," Marc Stein reported that there has been "no traction" between Dallas and Indiana regarding a Hield trade. He also reported that Indiana is not "inclined" to swap Hield for Tim Hardaway Jr.

Along with the news of there being "no traction" on a potential trade, Stein also said he thinks the Pacers will end up wanting "some sort of draft sweetener" in the deal along with whoever they acquire.

Dallas has a 2027 first-round pick that they can deal, but they are reportedly being "incredibly cautious" when it comes to moving that pick, and Hield alone likely isn't worth that as Luka Doncic could be gone by that point.

A Hield trade before training camp seems unlikely at this point, but talks could pick up steam quickly. The Mavs don't necessarily need another shooter on their roster, but if they could somehow land Myles Turner in a deal too, that would be a deal that every Mavs fan would be more than supportive of.

They would land one of the best shooters in the NBA along with an elite center, propelling them into Finals contention immediately.

We'll have you covered with all the latest news and rumors surrounding Buddy Hield and the Dallas Mavericks, so stay tuned.
