1. Starting to form a younger core

The main reason why the Dallas Mavericks deserve an A+ offseason grade is due to the fact they are creating a young core around Doncic. Josh Green, Jaden Hardy, Olivier-Maxence Prosper, and Dereck Lively II are a great start to creating that young core.

In the past, the Dallas Mavericks would use their young players as trade bait around the trade deadline to get veteran players to help with a playoff run. Hopefully, these rookies show Doncic that it will be worth staying around Dallas once he is up for a contract extension.

Green is worth signing to an extension if he does well in the final year of his contract. He has shown that he can start if someone goes down with an injury, and could start on opening night this year. Hardy isn't as polished as Green yet but has shown that he can contribute coming off the bench in short stints when a starting guard needs to take a break.

It has yet to be seen how Prosper and Lively II will contribute to the Mavericks. Prosper should contribute to the second unit early on in the season with his energy, hustle, and defense. Lively II will definitely help out in the rebound department with his 7-foot-1 size. The fact that the Mavericks have a young core now is super exciting and deserves an A+ this offseason.
